Capricorn; A Brand New Name

Hey out there, sorry it's been a while since I last posted. Today I'm going to be talking about the song Capricorn. I believe that this particular song really speaks to the part of human nature that wants us to escape to the part of ourselves that makes us want to become someone or something else. There is are also lyrics that say "I was almost there; just a moment away from becoming unclear, ever get the feeling you're gone..." this could be a reference to the fact that there is a part of us that wants to be understood but people have a tendency to be judgmental and so you risk becoming misunderstood by others even as you are trying to change. I also wonder, though, if it also speaks to wanting to show others the things your doing to change; there is another set of lyrics that say "I'll show you the way, the way I'm going..." I just think that this song has an interesting perspective on change and how we go about changing ourselves. What is it that drives us to want to tear ourselves up and remake ourselves into something else? Tell me what you think.

So I run, hide and tell myself
I'll start again with a brand new name
And eyes that see into infinity
I will disappear
I told you once and I'll say it again
I want my message read clear
I'll show you the way, the way I'm going
So I run, hide and tear myself up
Start again with a brand new name
And eyes that see into infinity
I was almost there
Just a moment away from becoming unclear
Ever get the feeling you're gone
I'll show you the way, the way I'm going
So I run, hide and tell myself
I'll start again with a brand new name
And eyes that see into infinity
So I run, start again
With a brand new name
With a brand new name
So I run and hide and tell myself (so I run)
I'll start again with a brand new name (start again)
And eyes that see into infinity (with a brand new name)
I will disappear
